Service Description

This is a first consultation to consider your bone health with Dr Philip Kelly of LondonSwissMedical, at The Guthrie Clinic at King's College Hospital Denmark Hill, London SE5, The HCA Shard at London Bridge Hospital, London SE1, or at 25 Harley Street, London W1G. This may be because you have an established diagnosis of osteoporosis or osteopaenia; wish to discuss your bone mineral density (BMD) on DEXA scan and when next to check it: have had treatment with a high likelihood of causing secondary osteoporosis (for example glucocorticoids/ steroid therapy, or treatment for breast cancer), have had a premature menopause, androgen deficiency, parathyroid disease, critical illness; have had a fracture at the hip, spine or another site; have lost height; have fallen/ are at risk of falls and worried about fractures. You may have completed a course of therapy with a bisphosphonate; wish to know whether your should continue them or not; whether to have a medication break; consider intravenous therapy; consider Prolia (denosumab) or have tried it and are worried about what happens when you are due to stop it or have stopped it; you may need to consider your bone turnover markers and whether these will help guide your treatment. If a DEXA scan is necessary, it can be done with us at Harley Street, The Shard or King's & they will invoice you separately for this.

For cancellations please email at least a day in advance. To rebook please contact us at least twelve hours in advance. Cancellations less than a day before the appointment, rebooking less than twelve hours before the appointment, or failing to attend the appointment may all incur a 50% charge.
